MG Coaching & Consulting’s Executive Search process helps nonprofits find the best candidate, even if they are not currently looking for a job. Using a customized search that is exactly right for you, we use our regional network and experience, plus years in the nonprofit arena to actively recruit candidates that are the perfect fit for your organization.

We work with the nonprofit to design executive positions that are compelling to candidates with an appropriate compensation range to attract the most qualified candidate for your important position. During the process, MG Coaching & Consulting will promote the position on identified channels, manage and screen applications, and can even work with third-party vendors to do background checks or personality assessments.

MG Coaching & Consulting’s 5 Step Process

  • Meet with the search committee and key stakeholders.
  • Create the candidate profile and search strategy.
  • Research and channel identification begins.
  • Search committee shares plan with staff leadership.
  • Determine what success will look like. What would the right candidate bring to the table?

  • Start the process of gathering applicants.
  • Preliminary discussions begin.
  • Review the process with search committee to see if adjustments are needed.

  • MG Coaching & Consulting reviews the finalists with the search committee and recommends those for final interview.
  • Candidate profiles are prepared, and the search committee conducts final interviews.
  • Transition plans are finalized.

  • Full reference check on the top candidate(s)
  • The search committee decides on the final choice.
  • MG works with the committee chair to negotiate an acceptable offer with the chosen candidate and an agreement in principle is reached.

  • The search committee presents the recommendation for board vote, the board confirms, and the start date is set.
  • Job offers or employment contracts are presented and signed.
  • Introductions are made to staff and key stakeholders and a communication plan is put in place.
  • MG works with the client and the new leader to ensure a smooth transition.
  • MG Coaching & Consulting can offer additional resources such as Facilitation, Leadership Development, or Strategic Planning to help the new leader reach their full potential.
